Room 2 Live: Independent Venue Week
In honour of Independent Venue Week, Room 2, took on the task of providing us with the latest up and coming acts of Glasgow over the course of 3 amazing gigs. I had the pleasure of attending gig 2 with the sensational Reely Jiggered, Dignity Row, and The Laurettes!
Reely Jiggered, an absolute hidden gem if you are into your celtic rock. Family band, Reely Jiggered has been
performing for 10 years! Traveling from Scotland to Mexico, this 3 piece have taken their love for music around the world. With an opera singer as a vocalist, it's no wonder the trio gather a crowd. Performing with energy you need to see to believe, Reely jiggered had the gig-comers alive & ready for their Saturday night!
Next up was newborns, Dignity Row. Forming together for their love of music, these guys played their 1st gig like pros. Jamie, lead vocalist, keys & songwriter (a
jack of all trades), brought the Glaswegian musicians together for a night of 80s inspired ballads. Covering the likes of ‘September’ by Earth, Wind & Fire, a classic you cant help but sing! Dignity Row had everyone dancing whether they wanted to or not.
The Laurettes. Our last act of the night but most definitely not the least. Starting off with a bang, the ladies gave us the set off a lifetime. Performing Paolo
Nutini's ‘Pencil Full of Lead’ ( you cant beat it) they then moved onto their own music with the 2021 single ‘Homebird’ being a crowd pleaser. The Laurettes were not ones to miss with their constant bangers & crazy energy the crowd were begging for more, especially with the performance of their new single ‘Dopamine’.
Now, as we enter the world of gigs and people, it is important that we all feel safe. Gigsafe are a not-for-profit organisation that comes to gigs & are there if you ever feel safe! If its for safety or just for a chat the guys are always there!
